A bit of an update

Howdy

Despite all being a bit quiet, there’s been loads going on with us recently…

We’re playing up in Preston this Friday if anybody up that way on fancies it, or anyone from Liverpool fancies the drive it’s free entry. we’re on about 9.45 – http://www.songkick.com/concerts/9349468-birdman-rallies-at-mad-ferret

Unfortunately we’ve had to cancel our show at this weekends Southport Rocks, our Ryan is keeping himself busy touring with The Wombats, The Cribs & The Courteeners so we’re holding back on a bit of the live stuff – but absolutely made up for Ryan! And a bit jealous…

Make sure you check out Owls* at Southport if you make it up there.

Our next Liverpool shows will be with Jeffrey Lewis at Static Gallery on the 30th July, and then at the Above The Beaten Track festival at the Bluecoat over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

We’ve been busy though, or rather Darren has mixing our album. It’s sounding great and we’re excited about it – it should be ready for Autumn, complete with amazing artwork from Amée Christian – news on the launch party soon.

Greetings

We’ve been busying ourselves finishing off the album, writing stuff for the next one, and sorting some gigs out for the Summer – they’ll be more info to follow, but we’re quite excited about it all.

What we’re really excited about though – is that the good people at Channel 5 have decided to use Old Man on the promo for The Walking Dead. Lovely stuff.

A few shots from this year – an instore show at Liverpool Sound City in May – one of three shows that festival, a Mellowtone show at the Shipping Forecast, and with John Smith and Jon Thorne at St Georges Hall, the most spectacular setting and the best gig we’ve played by a country mile.

Hello!

Just a quick note to thank you all for all your support over 2010. It was a funny year for us, with highs and lows.

We ended the year with a flourish, playing at St Georges Hall with John Smith, and then the Kazimier with Villagers, as well as getting most of what will be our first proper release recorded – watch this space with news on the release and a tour to go with it.

Thanks to everyone who has helped out this year, particularly Daz and Amee, and everybody else who we can’t remember at the time of writing
